Thunderstorms are one of the things I enjoy about living in Kansas. When I started shooting severe weather throughout the area, lightning was the primary target. My interest in tornadoes started in 2000 after returning from Texas were I had been taking pictures at an auto race. I watched a tornado near my home and when I realized that I had shot all my film at the race, all I could do was watch the tornado pass by. That was the year I made the change to digital,the next day to be exact.
From 2008 through 2012, I chased severe weather and posted the results at KansasVortex.com. Today I shoot severe weather and all that the Midwest has to offer. It's a continuous search to capture life’s drama with a Canon camera. Well not exactly a continuous search, more like when I have time.
